“Embrace the Belmont” comes to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame on Tuesday, June 4th

Kicking off a historic week of Thoroughbred racing in Saratoga Springs, this celebrity-hosted educational event will benefit local equine charity Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga

Saratoga Springs, NY (May 10, 2024) – Saratoga Springs business owners, community leaders and local citizens will come together on June 4th to Embrace the Belmont. This enlightening event is designed to engage the Saratoga Springs community and deepen their understanding of horse racing while supporting the great work of Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS). The event will take place on Tuesday, June 4, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the National Museum of Horse Racing and Hall of Fame and promises to be a memorable evening to set the stage for a historic week of horse racing in Saratoga Springs.

Embrace the Belmont will provide guests with an opportunity to delve into the basics of handicapping and gain insights into the 2024 Belmont Stakes field. Led by horse racing analyst Donna Brothers of NBC Sports, attendees will embark on a journey through “Handicapping 101” before a panel of well-known handicappers (Acacia Clement, Seth Merrow, and Maggie Wolfendale) will discuss and analyze the Belmont Stakes.

“I am so excited about the Belmont Stakes coming to Saratoga Springs and the opportunity to share this event with the community!” said Donna Brothers of NBC, “I know the Saratoga community is ready for the influx of racing fans, but I also want them to know how to talk about the Belmont Stakes with their clients and customers. Partnering with THS on this event makes it a win-win-win for all involved!”

Tickets to Embrace the Belmont are on sale for $56 each, paying homage to the 156th running of the Belmont Stakes. Space will be limited, and pre-registration is required. Proceeds directly benefit THS and its partnership with local Certified Equine Therapists who provide Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) to adults and children facing mental illness, social difficulties, and other challenges.

“We are deeply grateful for the support of the community and the dedication of our host Donna Brothers and organizers Rachel Dunn and Laura Simiele,” said Meg Koloskie, Development Manager at Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga. “Their passion for horse racing and commitment to our cause have made this event possible, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on both our organization and the Saratoga Springs community.”

Event attendees will enjoy light bites provided by PDT Catering, with wine generously donated by Saratoga Winery, and beer and seltzer courtesy of Saratoga Eagle.
