Exciting Announcement: Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga Selected as Charity Partner for National “Seen Through Horses” Campaign
Seen Through Horses showcases the incredible impact horses have on mental health while bringing together members of the equine community to help support equine-assisted mental health services.
Saratoga Springs, NY (April 17, 2025) – Horses have long supported human wellness in various capacities, but their role within the field of mental health is only beginning to gain the recognition it deserves. Horses, when partnered with licensed professionals in therapy or personal growth settings, can make a big difference for the mental health challenges so many people face and help them heal in a safe and powerful way.
The mission of Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS) is rooted in giving retired racehorses a meaningful second career as therapy partners, helping individuals, children, families, couples, Veterans, and Service Members improve their mental health through Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy and wellness programs. That’s why THS is thrilled to announce its participation in the 2025 Seen Through Horses Campaign.
Seen Through Horses is a national peer-to-peer campaign convening individuals, mental health professionals, celebrities, and influencers to increase awareness, drive engagement, and raise critical funding for nonprofit organizations like THS. THS is proud to be one of 95 charities across the country working to expand access to these life-affirming services during Mental Health Awareness Month, May 1–31, 2025.

About Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga
Founded in 2018, Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS) is accredited by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. The organization provides a safe and nurturing sanctuary environment for 26 retired Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses, utilizing them in programs built around the Horse-Human connection to support mental health, wellness and personal growth. Working in partnership with ECS Psychological Services P.C., THS provides the therapy horses and peaceful farm environment to deliver Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) to children, families and adults including military veterans, active servicemembers and their dependents through its Freedom Rein Program.
In 2024, THS facilitated more than 500 hours of EAP to individuals of all ages from across the Capital Region. In addition to the organization’s collaboration with ECS, THS directly offers programs focused on personal growth, wellness and education through TeamBuilding, HorsePlay, Field Trips and Farm Experiences to the community at large.
