Sharon Domínguez has been passionate about horses since childhood, growing up in Delaware where her father trained Standardbreds and her mother owned riding horses. After earning a BA in Visual Communications from the University of Delaware, she began her career in the racing industry at Delaware Park, where she gained valuable experience working with renowned trainers like Graham Motion and Jonathan Sheppard. Sharon’s personal life is closely tied to the racing community, as she is married to Hall of Fame jockey Ramon Domínguez, and together they have two sons, Alex and Matthew.

In addition to managing Ramón’s bookkeeping and rental properties, Sharon has dedicated her time to assisting small businesses and non-profits in navigating benefits under the Federal CARES Act. Her significant contributions to the Thoroughbred racing industry include organizing events for the New York Race Track Chaplaincy and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF). She actively supports organizations like the Backstretch Employee Service Team (BEST) and the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF), demonstrating her commitment to enhancing the welfare of horses and their caretakers.

Sharon expresses her deep enthusiasm for Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga and its incorporation of Equine-Assisted Therapy, highlighting the healing power of horses from her personal experiences. She believes that mental health is increasingly important and views horses as a magical pathway to healing. Sharon emphasizes the need for accessibility in equine-assisted therapy, wishing that everyone who seeks it could have daily access. She is particularly passionate about the Veterans program, recognizing the sacrifices of service men and women and feeling honored to contribute to their healing.
