Originally from Michigan, Kara earned a degree in Animal Science and has built a career working with animals in a variety of settings, including a veterinary office, an animal shelter, and an educational goat dairy farm in Vermont. Her passion for animals of all kinds, combined with a love for connecting people and animals, made THS a natural fit.
After moving to Saratoga Springs with her husband, Kara began volunteering at THS and quickly became part of the farm family. Today, she plays a vital role in welcoming and supporting our incredible volunteer team, helping create the same sense of belonging that first drew her to THS.
Kara is passionate about the impact of the horse-human connection and loves helping volunteers build meaningful relationships with both the horses and one another. When she’s not at the farm, you can find her gardening, running, hiking, or capturing nature through photography.
We’re grateful to have Kara as part of the THS team and thankful for the enthusiasm, compassion, and dedication she brings to our volunteers every day.
