Alexandra has always had a love for all animals — particularly horses. Alex is from Schenectady, NY and lived with animals since she was born, always wanting to be around them and care for them. Being as young as she was, it was hard to get her foot in the door in the horse world. She reached out to a local horse farm and at 12 years old, happily began volunteering many days (and most of the summers) at the farm in exchange for lessons, horse time, and absorbing any infor-mation she could. Once she turned 16 and could work officially, she began working at a veterinary hospital as a kennel technician and would take care of many pets, including dogs, cats, pocket pets, and exotics, while still balancing her riding time. She attended Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island majoring in Equine Science, with classes including anatomy, first aid, history of the horse, and even in-person riding classes. She briefly relocated to MA where she continued to work in the veterinary field, now as a veterinary technician, and her love for helping and advocating for animals kept growing. Once she moved back to NY, she wanted to dig deep into her roots and work with horses again. She found THS and immediately fell in love with the environment, energy, and of course, the horses. She now has the best of both worlds, where she can combine her veterinary medical knowledge with her love and compassion for horses as an Equine Care Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cat, Loki, and riding as much as possible.
